Job Summary
Processes and prepares pathology specimens to produce quality diagnostic slides for examination by a pathologist. Responsible for accessioning, organizing specimens, assisting in grossing, maintaining equipment, embedding, cutting tissue sections, performing routine and special stains, and participating in departmental tasks. Requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Must be proficient in computer operations relevant to pathology.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree of Science degree or higher level of education
- Three (3) + years’ experience in histology
- HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification
- Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
- Must complete HAZMAT training within 90 days of hire/transfer
