Histology Technician III performs tissue processing, embedding, cutting, staining, immunohistochemistry, and histochemical assays; participates in molecular pathology procedures and rotational after-hours frozen sections and organ procurement evaluation with Mid-America Transplant Services; collaborates with pathologists, trainees, and researchers in a fast-paced academic core laboratory; maintains supplies, adheres to SOPs, and documents assay results while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in histology or related field or combination of education and experience
  • Histology experience with at least 2 years
  • Ability to perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) and histochemical staining
  • Experience with tissue processing, frozen sections, and molecular pathology procedures
  • ASCP HT/HTL certifications preferred
  • Ability to comply with regulatory requirements and safety procedures
  • Data entry and documentation skills
  • Collaborative team player with pathologists, trainees, and transplant services
