Job Summary
Histology Technician for GI in SW Portland (On-Call) needed to perform complete specimen preparation in the Gastroenterology West Clinic Pathology Lab, including accessioning, grossing, processing, embedding, and slide preparation. Responsibilities include quality control/assurance, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, logging/testing records, and coordination with business office for pathology billing. Must have ASCP HT/HTL certification or equivalent, CLIA 88 training, and either an associate or bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years histology experience; on-call evening shifts in Portland, OR.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Applied Arts/Science or Bachelors degree preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a histology laboratory
- ASCP Certification or equivalent HT/HTL
- CLIA 88 training compliant
- Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining experience is a plus
