Job Summary
Performs routine cutting and staining of surgical specimens, including frozen sections and special stains; conducts frozen sections and applies special stains; performs related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a program qualified for Certified Histological Technician Licensure or Medical Lab Technology
- Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Certified Histological Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician, required
- OR Must have a valid permit and become licensed to practice as a Certified Histological Technician within one (1) year of employment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
