Job Summary
Histotechnician responsible for embedding and microtomy of tissue specimens, staining and mounting tissue sections, and preparing samples for microscopic review by pathologists. Maintain quality control for staining, blocks and slides, perform accessioning of surgical specimens, keep orderly laboratory records, maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance, adhere to chemical hygiene standards, and contribute to procedure development and revision as part of the histology section in a hospital laboratory.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Related Field of Study required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
- Histotechnologist (HTL ASCP) required
- 2-3 years experience as Histotechnician preferred
