Job Summary
Cut, stain, and prepare tissue samples for pathologist review while prioritizing testing procedures to ensure accurate and timely completion. Maintain proper records of all tests performed in strict accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires recent graduation from an accredited histology program or one year of technical experience, with certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. The position offers schedule flexibility and is located in Piedmont Cartersville.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Sufficient number of college/technical school courses and/or clinical training in Histology to satisfy the requirements for testing and certification through ASCP (HT or HTL)
- Requirements for a Histology Technician or Technologist as specified by the Rules of Regulations of the Georgia Department of Human Resources Laboratory Licensure Division
- Recent graduate from an accredited histology program
- One year of technical experience in a surgical pathology laboratory
- Certification as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other acceptable agency
- Qualifications through the State of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory regulations
Desired Qualifications
- Three years experience in a surgical pathology laboratory

- Certification requirements as specified by the Rules of Regulations of the Georgia Department of Human Resources Laboratory Licensure Division.
