Job Summary
Cut, stain, and prepare tissue samples for pathologist review while prioritizing testing procedures to ensure accurate and timely completion. Maintain proper records of all tests performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations. This role is located at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Georgia and requires recent graduation from an accredited histology program or one year of technical experience in a surgical pathology laboratory.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Recent graduate from an accredited histology program
- One (1) year of technical experience in a surgical pathology laboratory
- HT - Histotechnologist - ASCP Certification as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other acceptable agency, according to the qualifications through the State of Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, Clinical Laboratory regulations
- A person who recently moved into the state of Georgia or recently completed the academic and training/experience requirements may be temporarily classified as technologist or technician for eighteen (18) months only to afford the person an opportunity to successfully complete an approved qualifying examination within 1-1/2 Yrs
