Job Summary
Histology Supervisor role at Sonic Healthcare USA (Aurora Diagnostics LLC) in Salem, OR. Full-time first shift supervising the histology department, ensuring quality and adherence to SOPs, assisting the Manager with budgeting, staffing, recruiting, training, and performance evaluations. Responsibilities include embedding and preparing slides for routine H&E and special stains, performing and documenting preventive maintenance, maintaining safety and quality control, and supporting patient-care processes. Requires ASCP certification (or equivalent) and 5+ years in histology or 2+ years as a supervisor, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Histology Technician or Histotechnologist and/or 2 years’ experience as a Histology Supervisor
- Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment (microscopes, automated analyzers, centrifuges, pipettes, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with safety and confidentiality of PHI
