Job Summary
Prepare tissue and cytology specimens processed in the Histology Department under the supervision of the Laboratory Medical Director and Laboratory Director. Ensure efficient and accurate analysis of surgical specimens for Pathology review while delivering excellent patient care and customer service. Maintain quality standards for all specimens processed in the department. This role requires an Associate degree in Histology Technician Training, 1-3 years of histology/pathology laboratory experience, and ASCP certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, Histology Technician Training in an accredited program, or demonstrated expertise in histologic techniques
- 1-3 years in histology/pathology laboratory
- ASCP or equivalent
- Knowledge and skills for preparation of surgical specimens for Pathology to view
