Job Summary
Prepare tissue and cytology specimens efficiently and accurately under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Medical Director to ensure quality patient care. Deliver excellent customer service and perform efficient analysis of surgical specimens processed in the Histology Department. Maintain expertise in histologic techniques and hold an ASCP license or equivalent certification. Requires 1-3 years of histology/pathology laboratory experience. This PRN role supports OakBend Medical Center's commitment to exceptional, compassionate care at three hospitals and specialty centers since 1950.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, Histology Technician Training in an accredited program, or demonstrated expertise in histologic techniques
- 1-3 years in histology/pathology laboratory
- ASCP or equivalent
- Knowledge and skills for preparation of surgical specimens for Pathology to view
