Job Summary
Receives, stores and distributes materials, tools, and equipment within the warehouse; operates material handling equipment to stow or issue materials; conducts inventory of materials; fills pick tickets or requests for materials from workers or vendors; performs other related tasks as assigned, some of which may become essential to the position; includes forklift and other lift equipment operation, crane/shipyard environment, and mandatory background/drug check requirements. Walk-ins are accepted and the site is in San Diego, CA, with emphasis on maintaining accurate inventory, communicating with vendors/workers, and warehouse maintenance. Requires CRT experience, forklift certification, and ability to read/write/speak English; physical demands include frequent to continuous lifting and exposure to noisy, dusty environments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in stockroom/warehouse environment (receiving, stocking, issuing materials)
- CRT experience
- Knowledge of computerized inventory and material control systems
- Ability to operate forklift, order picker, turret lift
- Forklift certification required
- Ability to access and move around a ship safely
- Ability to work indoors, outdoors, or on a ship
- Reading, writing, and speaking English
