Job Summary
Prepare operating rooms for scheduled procedures across multiple specialties including orthopedic, gynecological, and robotic surgery. Ensure instruments, supplies, and medications are properly prepared while maintaining sterile technique and infection prevention standards. Assist surgical teams before, during, and after procedures by passing instruments, anticipating needs, and performing surgical counts. Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and Pyxis systems while ensuring equipment functions properly. Travel between regional campuses as required, with mileage reimbursed, and support diverse surgical volumes across five operating rooms and specialized suites.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- BLS certification
- Ability to travel between assigned regional campuses as required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team
- Comfortable working across multiple surgical specialties
- Adaptable and willing to travel between regional locations
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Committed to maintaining high standards of surgical quality and safety
- Current shifts include: 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM
- Current shifts include: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Ten-hour shifts may also be discussed based on department needs and growing surgical volume
- Additional scheduling requirements may vary based on operational needs
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of Surgical Technologist experience strongly preferred
- NBSTSA certification preferred
- Experience supporting Orthopedic surgery
- Experience supporting Gynecological surgery
- Experience supporting General surgery
- Experience supporting Podiatric surgery
- Experience supporting Ophthalmology
- Experience supporting Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures
- Experience supporting Robotic surgery
- Experience supporting Urology procedures
- Experience supporting Endoscopy
