Job Summary
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade APIs using Azure API Management, implementing policies for authentication, authorization, routing, and rate limiting. Lead API migration projects from MuleSoft to Azure APIM while building CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Conduct code reviews, configure monitoring via Azure Monitor and Application Insights, and troubleshoot complex production incidents with rapid resolution. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams on API best practices, authoring designs, documentation, and runbooks. Support SIT, UAT, and production deployments, ensuring compliance with IT service management processes. Collaborate closely with architects, DevOps, and security teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of overall IT experience
- at least 4 years of hands-on experience in Azure API Management and related Azure services
- Proven experience in enterprise API development, integration, deployment, and production support
- Strong expertise in REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, and OpenAPI specifications
- In-depth knowledge of APIM features including policies, products, subscriptions, backends, versions, and revisions
- Proficient in implementing security standards using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, API keys, certificates, and mutual TLS
- Experience with managed identities and Azure Key Vault for secure credential and secret management
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for CI/CD automation
- Solid understanding of Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for observability and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Git and standard code-review practices
- Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies and experience working in iterative delivery environments
