Job Summary
Prepare operating rooms for scheduled procedures and ensure all instruments, supplies, and medications are properly prepared. Assist surgical teams before, during, and after procedures while maintaining sterile technique and infection prevention standards. Anticipate the needs of surgeons and pass instruments during operations, assist with surgical counts, and maintain accurate documentation in the Epic electronic medical record system. Support diverse specialties including orthopedic, robotic, and urology procedures across multiple regional campuses with required travel between locations. Work collaboratively with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia professionals in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to travel between assigned regional campuses as required
- BLS certification
Desired Qualifications
- NBSTSA certification
- 2+ years of Surgical Technologist experience
- Experience supporting Orthopedic surgery
- Experience supporting Gynecological surgery
- Experience supporting General surgery
- Experience supporting Podiatric surgery
- Experience supporting Ophthalmology
- Experience supporting Gastrointestinal (GI) procedures
- Experience supporting Robotic surgery
- Experience supporting Urology procedures
- Experience floating to other campuses within the region
- Ten-hour shift availability
- Experienced and confident in the operating room
- Highly attentive to sterile technique and patient safety
- Able to anticipate the needs of the surgical team
- Comfortable working across multiple surgical specialties
- Adaptable and willing to travel between regional locations
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Committed to maintaining high standards of surgical quality and safety
