Job Summary
Provide safe, competent, and compassionate nursing care to medical-surgical patients with diagnoses including NSTEMI, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, and acute kidney injury. Perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and monitor vital signs, telemetry, and laboratory results. Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and patient care technicians while delegating tasks based on scope of practice. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Serve as a relief charge nurse to support daily unit operations, coordinate admissions and transfers, and promote effective interdisciplinary communication. Work day or night shifts with weekend and holiday requirements, utilizing strong clinical judgment to manage a 1:5 or 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio in a busy inpatient environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
- Minimum 2 years of professional nursing experience
- Relief Charge Nurse experience
- Medical-surgical experience
- Ability to provide safe and effective care to patients with varying levels of acuity
- Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- BLS certification

- Weekend Requirement: Typically every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Typically every other holiday
- Closed-toe shoes required
- Appropriate hygiene and professional appearance required
