Job Summary
Provide safe, competent nursing care in General Medicine by assessing patients, developing individualized care plans, administering medications, and monitoring physical, psychological, and emotional needs. Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care across the continuum while advocating for patients and families. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, educate patients on health conditions and treatments, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Work in a fast-paced environment requiring extended standing, lifting patients up to 35 lbs, and operating medical equipment. New graduate RNs are welcome to apply with BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state of practice.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification prior to the start date.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Frequently navigating hospital corridors and clinical areas.
- Standing or sitting for extended periods, including periods of up to approximately 6 hours.
- Operating medical and office equipment.
- Frequently lifting, moving, or carrying objects or patients weighing 35 lbs. or more, as required.
- Occasionally stooping, squatting, or positioning oneself at lower heights.
- Maintaining adequate near-vision acuity for clinical duties.
- Coordinating hands, fingers, feet, and eyes while performing clinical tasks.
- Performing basic mathematical calculations accurately and efficient.
- Analyzing clinical information and identifying appropriate solutions.
- Communicating effectively with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers verbally and in writing.
- Working effectively with individuals who may have different perspectives or viewpoints.
- Making ongoing clinical decisions based on patient data, observations, and assessments.
- Managing an environment that may involve emotional stress and occasional challenging or aggressive behavior.
- Working safely around potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, contagious diseases, chemicals, and other healthcare-related hazards.
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred.
- Previous RN experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Basic proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications.
