Job Summary
Pipefitter responsible for laying out, installing, and maintaining vessels' piping systems aboard ships, reading blueprints, fabricating/installing piping, testing systems for leaks, and working with a tacker/helper. Work includes cutting and boring holes in bulkheads, installing fittings and valves, welding pipe support brackets, and ensuring systems meet specifications. Requires ability to read layouts, operate shop machinery, and perform heavy physical tasks; typically 40–70 hours weekly in a shipyard setting; housing assistance available.
