Job Summary
Pipefitter sought for shipyard work to lay out, install, and maintain piping systems (heat/power, hot water, hydraulic, air, oil) on vessels. Responsibilities include reading layouts/blueprints, cutting and threading pipe, installing fittings/brackets, welding supports, testing systems for leaks, and coordinating with apprentices/tackers. Physical work includes lifting up to 40-75 lbs, standing/walking continuously, and operating cranes or hoists. Requires experience in shipboard fabrication and ability to work in a pair. Housing (relocation) assistance available; typical hours range 40-70 per week. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Shipyard experience required
- Ability read layouts and blueprints
- Ability to operate shop machinery and hand tools
- Ability to pre-fabricate pipe segments in shop
- Ability to install, test, and commission piping systems onboard vessels
