Job Summary
Weld high-quality pipes and tubular products in a shipyard, interpreting layouts, blueprints, and diagrams; perform arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or TIG welding to install and repair piping systems, valves, and fittings; test installations and ensure water-tight welds in steel, stainless, and aluminum; read plans, use hand and power tools, and comply with safety, OSHA, and ABS standards; ability to work flexible hours including overtime; pass 6G stainless and carbon steel weld coupons; able to operate in a very active, heavy industrial environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalence
- Three to five years of pipe welding experience
- X-ray pipe welding experience
- Must pass SMAW 6G Pipe Test
- ABS certification (American Bureau of Shipping)
