Job Summary
Conduct continuous foot patrols along the historic pier district frontage, loading areas, and building exteriors while maintaining high visibility to deter trespassing and unauthorized access. Respond promptly to security incidents, disturbances, and alarms within the pier district, providing initial assessment and support until law enforcement or EMS arrive. Monitor waterfront edges, gates, contractor activity, and environmental hazards such as damaged railings or weather-related risks, documenting all events clearly in daily activity reports. Provide professional assistance to tenants, visitors, and pedestrians while enforcing property rules respectfully and maintaining clear radio communication with supervisors and local agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Weekend and holiday availability
- Flexible with schedule to work weekends, days, evenings, overnights, and holidays
- Previous experience in security or customer service fields
- Active CA State training
- Guard Card licensing
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong command presence
- Mandatory California Guard Card
- Training Certifications
- CPR
- Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and procedures
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods
- Comfortable using security systems, radios, and incident reporting tools
- Excellent computer, grammar and punctuation skills
- Conflict de-escalation and customer service skills
- Must successfully pass pre-employment background check
Desired Qualifications
- Prior EMT experience
- Military and/or law enforcement background
