Job Summary
Marine Electrician role at a shipyard in California and potentially Milwaukee-area locations; responsible for installing, repairing, and wiring electrical systems on ships, laying out and installing cable/conduit, drilling and welding mounting equipment, testing electrical equipment, reading blueprints and Navy standards, and performing related tasks in confined spaces and at heights. Requires 2 years of marine electrical experience or 4 years electrical experience, ability to use power/hand tools, read Navy standards and blueprints, willing to work various shifts, and adherence to safety guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Two years marine electrical experience and/or four years electrical experience
- Must pass assessment
- Ability to use power and hand tools and read composite blueprints, computer printouts, and Navy standards manuals
- Must have ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and be available to work any shift
- Must comprehend written and verbal instructions and hear warning signals, read and comprehend safety instructions, regulations and warnings
- Prepare work areas, drill holes and grind metal surfaces
- Install welds and hook up equipment
- Lay out, pull, rip out, repair and install cable and conduit
- Test electrical equipment
- Read composite blueprints, computer printouts and Navy standards manual
