Job Summary
Install, repair, and hook up equipment for electrical services on a ship; run cables and harnesses, fabricate terminations/connectors, test and inspect electrical equipment against specifications and drawings, and troubleshoot shipboard electrical systems (600 V and less). Perform measurements of electrical quantities, test internal circuits for continuity/shorts/grounds, inspect mechanical/electrical connections, and maintain/repair telephones and related equipment; ensure work area readiness, test equipment conditions, and report results. Adhere to safety procedures and lock-out tag-out for all work on vessels.
Required Qualifications
- Must be experienced in installation, repair, and hook-up of shipboard electrical systems (600 V and less)
- Knowledge of electrical theory and procedures
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair shipboard electrical systems and equipment
- Familiar with safety procedures and Lock-out Tag-out
