Job Summary
Design safe lane closures and traffic detours by physically setting up and removing barricades, pylons, signage, and digital messaging boards around cities, construction sites, and major events like music festivals or sporting events. Manage traffic control operations within municipal areas to ensure safe project execution. Requires a valid Class 5 Driver's License, clean 3-year ICBC record, and a BC Traffic Control Person ticket. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and a Fit Test for lifting 50 to 75 pounds. Previous Lane Closure Technician experience of at least six months is mandatory. Casual employment with job-specific days, evenings, and weekend shifts available in Kelowna and surrounding areas.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Clean 3-year Regular Driver Record from ICBC or equivalent
- Valid BC Traffic Control Person (TCP) ticket from the BCCSA
- Ability to successfully pass a Fit Test including lifting between 50 and 75 pounds
- Previous experience as an Lane Closure Technician for 6 months or more
- Must undergo and pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Zero tolerance policy compliance for medical or recreational marijuana use
