Job Summary
Load and unload construction materials at job sites and warehouse locations, guiding equipment operators with hand signals when visibility is limited. Move, push, or pull materials into proper placement, remove items from delivery equipment, and secure loads for transport to ensure safety and compliance. Receive, sort, and store materials in racks based on designated systems, pull and prepare orders according to customer schedules, and load trucks accurately. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks as needed while maintaining clean work areas and following all OSHA guidelines and PPE requirements. This role supports warehouse and delivery operations for Kamco Supply Corp., New England's largest distributor of commercial building products, offering training in equipment operation within a team-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing 50–100 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical examination, including a lift test and drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse, laborer, or construction experience preferred but not required (training provided for the right candidate)
- Forklift experience or certification is a plus
- Familiarity with building materials (e.g., drywall, insulation, steel framing) is helpful but not required
- Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
