Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to critically ill newborns and premature infants in the NICU, adhering to the SMHCS professional practice model and ANA standards. Deliver advanced life support and around-the-clock specialty monitoring for patients in the Level III intensive care nursery. Teach families developmental care techniques, including skin-to-skin contact, and coordinate with Family Resource Navigation for community services. Maintain all neonatal certifications, including NRP within 90 days of hire. Work the 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM night shift with mandatory weekend, holiday, and on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- experienced NICU Registered Nurse
- minimally two years of NICU experience
- Weekends, holidays and mandatory on call shifts
- NRP certification within 90 days of employment
- basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications
- graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program
- Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN)
- any neonatal certification obtained during employment will be maintained during the remainder of employment
- BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
- FL Registered Nurse License
- background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
