Job Summary
Inclusion Assistant/Paraprofessional supporting YMCA programs for youth with disabilities; role involves modifying activities and equipment to promote participation and independence, teaching socially appropriate behaviors through positive reinforcement, implementing behavior management plans, and communicating with supervisors, teams, and parents. Requires ongoing adaptability to arts, crafts, sports, and recreational activities; emphasizes confidentiality, role modeling, and ability to provide age-appropriate instruction while meeting program needs. Part-time, before/after school hours with a split-shift schedule; physical readiness to assist with activities and lift up to 50 pounds; prior experience with youth and individuals with disabilities preferred; certifications/trainings must be completed prior to starting.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have prior experience working with youth
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely present ideas and concepts and tailor communication to multiple audiences
- Certifications Required: Before a new hire is scheduled to work, they must complete all required trainings.
