Job Summary
Part-time School Age Group Leader for YMCA before/after school sites and summer programs. Lead and engage groups of 15–20 children in activities outlined by the Site Director, set up/clean program spaces, follow safety and licensing standards, assist in planning and executing a quality curriculum, attend staff meetings, manage supplies, and maintain relationships with YMCA staff and school personnel. Requires fostering children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth in alignment with YMCA values; duties include supervising children, implementing activities, ensuring safety, and participating in training and certifications (CPR/First Aid/AED, background checks) with a flexible schedule Monday–Friday during before and/or after school hours.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must complete all state and school district mandated background checks and fingerprint clearances
- CPR/First Aid/AED (Infant/Pediatric) within 30 days of hire and maintain annual training requirements
- Pre-service training and various onboarding requirements including background checks, training on safety and program delivery
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Must maintain confidentiality of information
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible before/after school schedule
