Hiring Director of Nursing – Long Term Care

Job Summary
Develop and manage the nursing department's annual budget, recruit and supervise nursing staff, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Lead quality assurance initiatives, oversee electronic medical record systems, and maintain accurate resident documentation while addressing abuse or neglect concerns immediately. Monitor resident conditions, update care plans, and collaborate with physicians, families, and other departments to ensure safe, efficient, and resident-centered care. Participate in regulatory inspections, implement Plans of Correction, and foster positive working relationships throughout the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred/required according to organizational requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state of practice
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong understanding of nursing practices and resident-centered care
- Knowledge of medications, including therapeutic effects and potential side effects
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations, standards, and compliance requirements
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage staffing, scheduling, documentation, and departmental operations
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and employees
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to maintain a stationary position and move as required to perform job duties
- Ability to communicate, observe, assess, and respond to resident and staff needs
- Ability to operate and use workplace equipment, tools, and computer systems
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Previous supervisory or nursing leadership experience preferred
- Previous long-term care/skilled nursing experience preferred
- Previous long-term care experience is preferred
- Occasional travel may be required based on business needs
