Job Summary
Perform high complexity histocompatibility testing, including serological techniques, micro cytotoxicity testing, cross-matching, and antibody testing using Luminex; participate in Transplant on-call and weekend rotations; contribute to ongoing R&D and method development projects; requires California CLS or CHS license and a Bachelor's degree; background in HLA, blood bank, molecular methods, and regulatory knowledge; on-site at San Francisco facilities with night shifts and rotating weekends; ability to float to UCSF facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license
- Bachelor’s degree
- Night 2x8-Hour (23:30 - 08:00)
- 2-3 days per week (5 days every two weeks)
- Min 2 yrs experience
- Experience with HLA and blood bank preferred
- Experience with molecular methods, reference ranges, test methodologies, instrument operation/maintenance
- Ability to float to other UCSF Facilities
- Must pass Ishihara Color Vision exam
