Job Summary
HIP Financial Bookkeeper responsible for accurately entering and maintaining client data related to claims and premium payments, verifying payments to providers and insurers, and processing payments within contractor guidelines. Must input data from source documents into prescribed databases, review spreadsheets to prevent duplicate payments, forward tickets as needed, respond to inquiries professionally, and maintain compliance with health information privacy laws. Requires strong attention to detail, experience with Excel and database systems, and ability to handle confidential information while communicating with clients and providers. Travel may be required to support duties. High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred
- Experience in data entry, administrative support, or payment processing required
- An accounting or healthcare insurance background is a plus, but not required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database systems (intermediate level preferred)
- General computer literacy, including electronic transactions (ACH, bill pay, etc.)
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Strong communication skills for handling inquiries from clients and providers
