Job Summary
Conduct live online Hindustani Vocal Music classes via Zoom, guiding students from beginner to advanced levels in Swar, Alankar, Raga development, and performance techniques. Build strong fundamentals in voice culture, Taal, and improvisation while preparing learners for competitions and stage performances. Share session summaries and practice materials after each class, maintaining high engagement and communicating progress with parents for younger students. Requires Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music with formal training under a recognized Guru, plus 2+ years of teaching experience. Flexible schedule with fully remote work and competitive compensation based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music with specialization in Hindustani Vocal Music
- Formal training under a recognized Guru / Gharana / Music Institution
- 2+ years of experience teaching Hindustani Vocal Music to children and/or adults (online or offline)
- Strong foundation in Hindustani Music theory and practicals including: Swar, Shruti, Alankars
- Raga structure & development
- Bandish (Bada & Chhota Khayal)
- Taal & Layakari
- Alaap, Taans & improvisation techniques
- Ability to structure lessons for Beginner to Advanced levels
- Strong command over voice training, pitch control, and expression
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for online classes
- Ability to keep students engaged, interactive, and motivated
- Stable high-speed internet connection
- Quiet, professional home teaching setup
- Good quality microphone/headset and webcam for clear audio/video
- Familiarity with Zoom online teaching platforms
- Ability to use digital tools (notations, tanpura apps, virtual whiteboard, audio sharing) effectively
Desired Qualifications
- Certification such as Visharad / Alankar / equivalent
- Experience in preparing students for performances, competitions, and certifications
