Job Summary
Hindi Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor will provide virtual language instruction to improve proficiency across Listening, Reading, and Speaking (L/R/S) and deliver LREC program support. Responsibilities include delivering virtual instruction on language and regional/cultural topics using blended-learning methods, following designated POI, developing lesson plans/materials, assessing and tailoring instruction to ILR 0+–3 levels, reviewing and grading assignments, maintaining a positive virtual learning environment, and collaborating with Managers/Coordinators to address curriculum gaps. Requirements include US citizenship, native/near-native Hindi ability with ILR 3/3/3, virtual-language-instruction experience, understanding of the culture and region, ability to create blended lessons, and access to necessary hardware/software (computer, webcam, headset, internet). English qualifications include ILR 2+ or equivalent via TOEFL/TOEIC/ECL/ACTFL OPI; target language qualifications require ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High or higher with a validating assessment (OPI, ACTFL-certified interview, or DLPT). Desired qualifications include experience with CL-150, Adobe Connect, Canvas, Moodle, and experience instructing adult learners to DLPT/OPI standards and a Bachelor's Degree.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen
- Educated native speaker of the foreign language or near-native capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience in providing various levels of foreign language instruction through a virtual environment
- Understanding of the cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region
- Experience in creating blended learning lessons and ability to tailor existing materials to customer needs
- Access to computer with Windows, webcam, headset with microphone, cellular phone or smart tablet, and high-speed internet
- English Language Qualifications: ILR level 2+ or equivalent in TOEFL/TOEIC/ECL/ACTFL OPI as specified
- Target Language Qualifications: ILR 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High or higher, demonstrated via OPI, ACTFL-certified interview, or DLPT
- Desire: Experience with online platforms such as CL-150, Adobe Connect, Canvas, Moodle
- Desire: Experience instructing adult learners in Listening/Reading/Speaking and measuring with DLPT or OPI
- Bachelor's Degree
