Job Summary
Process protected health information (PHI) in accordance with hospital policies, state/federal laws, and HIPAA regulations to support patients' rights. Authenticate validity of requests and ensure documentation integrity for every record while interacting with patients and customers via phone, internal office, and email. Open incoming and interoffice mail, post medical record payments via check or credit card, and scan checks to the bank. Work within the designated ROI Workqueue to meet quality and productivity standards, addressing workflow issues in real time with the ROI Team Lead or coordinator. Handle MyChart Proxy requests and maintain compliance with evolving federal disclosure and meaningful use regulations using Epic and other EHR applications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Must possess the technical skills in working with an electronic health record system (Epic)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
- Possess adaptability and flexibility for learning new concepts with artificial intelligence (AI)
- Innovation skills in a professional manner
- Must organize and prioritize work to meet Quality and Productivity standards
- Minimum Education: Associate degree
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in health information management or health-related field preferred
- Minimum of five years' comparable experience in a hospital-related setting
- RHIT or RHIA
