Job Summary
Process accurate patient medical records by sorting, analyzing, releasing, storing, and ensuring data completeness in paper or electronic databases. Examine entries for correctness and accuracy while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Assist in backing up HIM Technicians and other assigned duties as needed. Requires a High School Diploma with a preferred Health Information Management degree, strong data entry skills, and proficiency in office equipment and computer systems. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong working knowledge of data entry and database systems
- Ability to operate office equipment
- Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Knowledge of medical records process
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates confidence and proficiency in use of computer
- Professional appearance and manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
