Job Summary
Health Information Specialist responsible for prepping, scanning, and indexing patient records, analyzing and reporting record completion, releasing patient health information, and providing department customer service to physicians, quality/risk, other internal departments, and external requesters. The role requires safeguarding patient privacy by ensuring access is limited to authorized individuals and that all releases comply with HIPAA, company policy, and requests. Required Qualifications
- RHIA OR RHIT required
- One year prior experience in a hospital medical records department
- Strong computer experience
