Job Summary
Manage and oversee medical records operations at a hospital facility, including responding to information requests from insurers and healthcare providers, ensuring HIPAA-compliant privacy and security, and maintaining properly completed, coded, signed, and indexed medical records. Coordinate with hospital/ADMISSIONS on ICD-10 coding for PDPM and other reimbursement methods; audit and review electronic health record documentation for accuracy; file and input information into resident charts; facilitate the transportation, retrieval, and delivery of records while safeguarding PHI; process authorized medical record releases; prepare charts for new patients and coordinate nurse scheduling with the DON to ensure adequate staffing. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA, ability to read/write/speak English, independent decision-making, and proficient computer/data retrieval skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent
