Job Summary
Responsible for managing, analyzing, and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of health information data. Supports all areas of HIM operations through data management as well as participation in HIM processing to ensure timeliness and optimization of techniques and technology. Assists leadership to ensure that patient record information is accurate, complete, secure, and compliant with regulatory, legal, and organizational requirements. Performs collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of HIM data; supports release of information; collaborates with IT to resolve data quality concerns; analyzes DNFB and supports EMR data integrity and cross-system data workflows. Requires strong knowledge of HIPAA, proficiency with EMR systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with HIM leadership and other departments. Scheduled 40 hours per week; on-site in Pennington, NJ.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year data analysis or HIM experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with multiple EMR systems
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Able to manipulate data from various systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- RHIA or RHIT preferred
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in health information management preferred
