HIM Coder - Hospital Coding Services - PRN

Review medical record documentation to assign accurate ICD-10-CM diagnosis, procedure, and CPT codes, including dual/single-path coding and chart abstracting. Utilize Electronic Medical Record systems to enter clinical and administrative data, ensure appropriate MS-DRG/APR DRG assignment, and comply with legal, payer-specific, and medical necessity guidelines. Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Improvement teams for queries and submit clarifications to physicians. Submit coding queries to physicians for medical record documentation clarification. Converse with providers or other health care professionals on coding and/or billing practices, if needed. Works professionally, independently and completes assignments in a timely manner. Meets coding productivity and accuracy standards. Participates at coding and department meetings/huddles.
