Job Summary
Conduct virtual and in-person counseling, assessment, and crisis intervention for University students, including individual therapy, group work, and case management. Deliver mental health education workshops and training for staff and students while cultivating partnerships with campus and community providers to facilitate referrals. Maintain confidential clinical documentation, manage client billing under a sliding-scale fee structure, and collect data to support reporting and quality improvement. Collaborate with campus Hillel staff, attend mandatory meetings and supervision, and supervise an MSW intern. Provide periodic in-person campus visits to build relationships and strengthen network partnerships.
Required Qualifications
- A Master's degree or Doctoral level degree in social work, psychology or counseling from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of two years' experience as a fully licensed practitioner
- Licensure (or immediately eligible) to practice as a mental health professional in good standing in the Province of Ontario
- Registered through the Ontario College of Social Worker and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) or registered through the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO)
- Thorough understanding of Ontario's legal, ethical, and professional standards of practice, including client confidentiality, privacy legislation (e.g., PHIPA), documentation requirements, informed consent, and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
- Demonstrated experience conducting clinical assessments, therapeutic counselling, and case management for a hybrid (virtual and in-person) caseload
- Strong knowledge of mental health services, community resources, and referral pathways across Ontario
- Previous experience working with teens, college students and/or young adults
- Providing counseling virtually
- Demonstrated self-starter and capable multi-tasker
Desired Qualifications
- Additional training, licensure, or certification related to the treatment of young adults, individuals, and/or families (Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) etc.)
- Cultural competence and an understanding of Judaism, Jewish traditions, and Jewish communal life
- Strong project management and excellent communication skills
