Job Summary
Report to Dispatch daily to receive work assignments for construction projects in the Mechanicsburg, PA area. Operate 35-65 horsepower walk-behind saws, air compressors, jackhammers, and core drilling machines safely while adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies. Load/unload equipment using provided checklists, maintain detailed paperwork for jobs, and obtain written customer confirmation for bridge saw cutting depths. Inspect and clean trucks and equipment before starting shifts, tag damaged machinery, and clean up slurry as required. Maintain in-depth understanding of diamond blade usage and report daily consumption.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience as a highway saw cutter or relevant training
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Able to understand and measure linear footage and record measurements
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in a related field
- One year of experience as a highway saw cutter
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
