Job Summary
Lead and direct large-scale highway projects for Parsons’ transportation portfolio in the Chicagoland area and Midwest, overseeing planning and design for highway capital improvements, coordinating with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring scope, budgets, schedules, and staffing are aligned to deliver high-quality infrastructure with efficiency. Must bring a strong background in highway planning and design of interchanges, arterial widening, and river crossings; manage and mentor PM teams, prepare progress reports, and ensure adherence to client policies and applicable regulations. Requires a Bachelor's in Engineering (Master’s preferred), 20+ years of experience in road/highway projects with IDOT or similar, and an Illinois Professional Engineer registration; excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field)
- 20+ years of related work experience
- Professional Illinois Engineer registration; Iowa and Wisconsin a plus
- Experience serving in a project management role on major road and highway projects with IDOT; city/county/regional/national projects a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
- Proficiency with engineering software for completing assignments
