Job Summary
Perform a variety of highway maintenance tasks including lighting, sign, and guardrail repair, bridge work, heavy equipment operations, road patrol, and incident response. Operate hand and power tools while maintaining proper safety equipment and adhering to federal, state, and local regulations. Work as part of a team in the Northern Virginia and DC area, with flexibility required for on-call rotations, night shifts, and changing schedules. Must possess a clean driving record, pass background checks, and hold relevant certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Clean driving record
- Must pass criminal background check
- Finger Printing required
- Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
- Carry out simple arithmetic functions
- Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job
- Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology
- Ability to use smart phone and applications
- Ability to adjust to changing work schedule
- Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor
- Ability to operate hand/power tools
- Must be flexible and available to work on-call when required
- Must be flexible and able to work on-call and nights when necessary
- Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing)
Desired Qualifications
- Roadway maintenance or construction experience
- MOT Certifications
