Job Summary
Highway Maintenance Technician responsible for a variety of road/landscape maintenance tasks under supervision. Core duties include cleaning culverts, mowing and clearing brush, patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders, assisting in storm cleanup, repairing fences and signs, removing litter and debris, responding to emergencies, and operating equipment and tools (hand and power tools such as chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, backpack blowers). Requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, 18+ years old, and a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of clean driving; ability to work in adverse weather and lift moderately heavy objects; physical ability to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods; strong eye-hand coordination and adaptability to changing work plans. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
- Valid driver's license with at least 3 years of clean driving
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Able to work in adverse weather conditions
- Able to lift moderately heavy objects
- Be able to bend, climb, stand, stoop, or walk for long periods of time
- Accurate eye-hand coordination
- Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or season
