Job Summary
Operate a variety of heavy and light equipment to maintain and repair roadways, bridges and related structures; perform pothole and concrete patching, fence and guardrail maintenance, drainage work, and erosion control; assist with weather-related emergencies, snowplowing, and traffic control; maintain vegetation along roadways and perform light carpentry and janitorial tasks; work as part of a maintenance crew with emphasis on safety and public service; must hold CDL-A with tanker endorsement or obtain it within 30 days of hire; ability to lift up to 60 pounds and be available for after-hours emergencies; strong communication and teamwork skills and proficiency with basic computer tools for reporting and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- One year of experience performing basic highway maintenance work OR Two years of general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, and/or construction experience or training
- CDL-A with no air brake restrictions, no 5th wheel restrictions and no manual transmission restrictions to be considered eligible
- Ability to obtain tanker endorsement within 30 days of hire
- Valid driver license and acceptable driving record
- Pre-employment driving records checks and FMCSA Clearinghouse registration
- No visa sponsorship required (for this position)
