Job Summary
Operate snowplows and heavy equipment while performing physical duties like traffic accommodation setup, flagging, and installing signs and guardrails. Complete daily inspections, minor repairs, and routine maintenance of machinery while adhering to strict safety practices and wearing required PPE. Work in all weather conditions across long shifts up to 12 hours, including night shifts and winter on-call rotations, to maintain safe roadways on the Southwest Calgary Ring Road.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Class 3 or Class 1 driver's license with air brakes endorsement and a recent 5-year abstract
- Reliable personal transportation
- Experience in heavy equipment operation
- Road maintenance or construction experience
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and adapt to changing conditions
- Strong communication skills in English
- Knowledge of safety regulations and safe work practices
- Ability to pass pre-employment fitness and drug/alcohol testing
- Must be able to meet all safety requirements including pre-employment fit and drug/alcohol testing
