Job Summary

Provide professional engineering consultation for planning, design, and coordination of diverse projects; develop and evaluate engineering reports, plans, and specification criteria. Coordinate with a diversified project team, including client communication, proposal coordination, and management of discipline-related activities. Prepare specifications, scaled drawings, and proposals while ensuring approval of materials and construction. Review junior staff's work for technical accuracy, provide technical guidance, and perform quality control reviews and field observations of ongoing construction projects. Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments, serving as a team expert or project lead to manage small multidisciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications

  • degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 7 years relevant experience
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • professional engineer in good standing
  • knowledge of applicable federal, state and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances
  • proficiency in production software and construction document production
  • proven ability to successfully address challenging or potentially controversial issues in a sound professional and business-like manner
  • experience working on parts of major projects or multiple moderate-size projects
  • experience providing technical guidance to junior-level staff
  • experience reviewing others' work for technical accuracy
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, team members, and other key stakeholders
