Job Summary
Coordinate with project managers and engineers on highway planning and design projects in Northern Ontario, focusing on preliminary and detailed design for rural and urban environments. Execute drafting and design work for civil engineering projects, including roadway geometric design, intersection and interchange design, roadside safety analysis, pavement marking and signage, traffic staging, and quantity calculations. Assist in preparing design and contract documents, technical specifications, and project reports while managing multiple concurrent projects to meet deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Technician from an accredited College
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience with highway and road design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and 2D drafting
- Good technical and communication skills
- Ability to work on several projects concurrently
- Ability to solve problems, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and meet project deadlines
- Ability to work in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Working experience with InRoads / OpenRoads
- Experience in the use of provincial transportation specific software
- Experience working on MTO projects/designs
- Experience within a consultancy environment specifically in the Civil Engineering industry
