Job Summary
Higher Education Sales Consultant responsible for developing partnerships with college professors and identifying publisher opportunities within a defined Michigan territory. You will call on and travel to colleges and universities, interview professors, and persuade author candidates to collaborate with Kendall Hunt Publishing. The role combines home-office work with on-campus visits (seven weeks of travel per semester, alternating with remote work) and requires strong relationship-building, goal orientation, and effective communication with professors, authors, and internal teams. You will manage a territory, close new business, and balance multiple priorities while representing a mission-driven educational publisher. A bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license are required; travel and campus engagement are integral to success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid driver's license (per company policy)
- willingness to travel seven weeks per semester

- self-directed with entrepreneurial mindset
- ability to manage multiple campuses/territories
- customer-focused sales experience (preferred in education)
