High Voltage Engineer

Job Summary
Conduct routine and reactive maintenance on electrical systems across the Rolls-Royce Filton site, including operation, isolation, and proving dead procedures within authorized limits. Identify safety hazards, specify control measures, and audit engineers on work compliance with statutory regulations and best practice. Manage maintenance for high and low voltage infrastructure, provide procurement advice on contractor standards, and communicate updates to stakeholders regarding regulatory changes. Monitor electrical risks, develop mitigation business cases, and maintain all records, registers, and schematic drawings. Ensure systems remain in safe conditions by reporting dangerous situations to the site manager and acting as the principal duty holder for NIC EIC.
Required Qualifications
- A valid High voltage (HV) AP Certification via an approved training provider
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering
- 5 + years experience of working within a critical infrastructure
- Experience in technical delivery and management of electrical systems
- HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering/management discipline
- Experience in leading a technical team directly in relation to Safe Systems of Works and Authorized activities such as HV
- Full Clean Driving License
- A strong background in health and safety with IOSH managing safety certification
- Excellent IT Skills – Particularly in Excel and presentation of technical data
- Meticulous attention to detail
- BS7671 - IET Wiring Regulation (18th Edition)
- Electrical Test and Inspection 2391-52
- Senior Authorised Persons Certificate of Appointment
- Take on the role of company principal duty holder for the NIC EIC
- Must be available for on site at Rolls-Royce Filton, Bristol BS32
- 40hrs Monday -Friday
