Job Summary
High-speed photonics experimentalist to develop phase modulators, switches, and other active photonic components for PsiQuantum's fault-tolerant quantum computer. Lead characterization/validation of high-speed active photonic devices, collaborate with electronics/manufacturing/test teams, and mentor junior members. Requires hands-on electro-optic measurements, deep knowledge of passive/active photonic components, and ability to translate device results into system-level performance. PhD/postdoc experience encouraged; MS also acceptable. Role involves wafer-level probing, packaged assemblies, and integrated builds with photonic chips, PCBs, drivers, and firmware.
Required Qualifications
- MS or PhD in electrical engineering, applied physics, optical engineering, photonics, or related discipline
- deep understanding of integrated photonic devices and circuits
- hands-on experience with RF, microwave, and optical test equipment
- experience with high-speed electro-optic measurements
- ability to translate device requirements into test plans
- experience with automated test systems or data pipelines
- familiarity with photonic material platforms (e.g., LN, InP, GaAs) is a plus
- experience working in cross-functional teams
